From the volcanic hills of Breganze in Central Veneto, we are pleased to share the first release of the 2022 vintage from Marco Turco.
At his fifth vintage, Marco reached a special connection with his land and grapes, farming five small plots he vinifies separately in a mix of fibreglass, steel and concrete. Without any addition, the resulting wines are fragrant and vibrant, where precision and complexity go hand in hand.
From a blend of three plots of Vespaiola, both Supernova and Vespasi show ultra-defined aromatics and structure. The red Lucifer, Merlot and Cabernet from a parcel around three hundred meters above sea level blended with some Vespaiola combined a deep Mediterranean character with fine tannins and restoring acidity.
As always, the influence of the volcanic soils, mainly composed of tenacious basalt rocks rich in iron, gives the wines a savoury minerality and great tension.
