We are delighted to release the 2020 vintage from our very first producer, Marco Turco.
We visited Marco last month, an enlightening day spent walking among his vineyards. These are incredibly small plots on the gentle hills of Breganze, between the Brenta river, the Monti Lessini Natural Park and the Asiago plateau, north to Vicenza in Veneto.
After a long chat about the winter pruning and the different composition of the soils we moved to the cellars, packed with fiberglass, steel and concrete vessels. Here, Marco vinifies every single plot separately, and then eventually blends the wines at a later time. The influence of the volcanic soils, mainly composed of tenacious basalt rocks, is extremely present in the wines, characterised by a savoury backbone and a smoky minerality.
