After a weekend spent in the astonishing Abruzzo we are pleased to introduce the new releases from Colle Florido.
We visited Andrea Ugolotti and Daniela Trollio in an unexpected snowy day. They are based in Pianella, inland of Pescara, an area that benefits from the influences of the nearby Adriatic Sea and the massive Apennines Mountains. Here the composition of the soils is mainly calcareous clay, with an abundance of active limestone and magnesium; factors that positively influence the metabolism of the vines.
Tasting with Andrea in the narrow space of his Cantina-garage is always a revealing experience. Even at this early stage the new wines are screaming with complexity and poise. With every new vintage, he proves to be one of the most talented winemakers in the Abruzzo panorama.
