Blend of Tocai Friulano, Malvasia Istriana and Ribolla Gialla from the crus Pradis and Bosc di Sot. Facing south, on the warm side of the Collio, the vines were planted between 1910 and 1960 on sandstone and marl, soils rich in limestone locally called 'Ponca' or 'Flysch'. The cold vintage and the early harvest at the beginning of September allowed Nikolas to pick exceptionally balanced grapes. Stomped by feet in plastic bucket before being moved to concrete, after five days on the skins the wines were pressed into barrels to age for eleven months. Displaying hints of candied citrus and a lovely palate tension, Grande Waldo is a wine of exceptional intensity and length that will age for decades.
