2021 Zinicò

Giuseppe, Fabio, Luca & Adolfo
Trebbiano, Pergolone

From the wild hills overlooking the stunning Majella massif and the labour of four passionate friends, we are pleased to present Zinicò.

In the summer of 2021, Giuseppe, Fabio, Luca and Adolfo worked the forty-five years old vineyards owned by Zio Nicola, a local farmer now retired from whom the wine takes its name. Located in Contrada Nasuti in Southern Abruzzo, these tiny plots are planted on clay-limestone soil and trained with the ancient Pergola Abruzzese.

The different clones of Trebbiano and the aromatic local variety Pergolone spend two weeks as a whole bunch before being pressed to stainless steel for fifteen months. Intense amber in the glass, it bursts with notes of candied tangerine, dried herbs and sweet spices. The vibrant texture combines lively tannins with bright acidity and a long mineral finish, making Zinicò an intriguing wine with a playful character.
