Just in time for the warmer season, we are happy to share a collection of wines from Vincenzo di Meo of Controvento.
Located just above the gorgeous Costa dei Trabocchi on the Adriatic shores in Southern Abruzzo, the five hectares of vines sit on a mix of limestone and clay with pebbles and rocks. These, combined with the warm sun and fresh breeze from the sea, are the major influences that shape Vincenzo's wine, which carries a low intervention approach in the field and cellar.
This first release features two whites and two reds. Alto Mare 2022 - a thirst-quenching field blend, Doccia Fredda 2022, Limite Acque Sicure 2022 and Arsenio & Zazà 2018, an intriguing red wine made with Montepulciano and Cabernet Sauvignon, a real surprise on our visit to Vincenzo last winter.
