New from Nikolas Juretic

December 2024

From the stunning hills next to the border with Slovenia on the Collio Friulano, we are thrilled to share this year's second release from Nikolas Juretic.

Based in the town of Cormons, Nikolas tends three hectares of vines in the cru Montona, on the cooler side of the Collio, and cru Pradis and Bosc di Sot on the warmer, south-facing slope. Tocai Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, Malvasia Istriana and little other white and red varieties grow on unique soils locally named Ponca or Flysch – a mix of sandstone and marl, rich in limestone and fossils, excellent for viticulture. With the help of mamma Elena and papà Roberto, Nikolas farms these beautiful plots following organic, biodynamic and permaculture principles.

This little release includes the 2022 vintage of Grande Waldo and two new wines. The youthful and energetic Reflecting Beauty in a Glass 2022, crafted by Nikolas and girlfriend Lelle from a tiny plot of Ribolla Gialla, and the immense, multi-dimensional Tempesta 2019.
