New from Manlio Manganaro

October 2022

The unique wine of Manlio Manganaro is back, this time in two electrifying labels.

White Label '21

Grillo sourced from a one-hectare plot in Campobello di Mazara, southwestern Sicily, just a few hundred meters from the sea. The vines are planted on terra rossa, red soil typical of this area, over limestone bedrock.

Sixty percent of the grapes were destemmed and fermented on the skins for five days. The other forty percent went through a week of whole bunch carbonic maceration. After manual pressing, the wine settles in concrete vats for eight months.

Vibrant and salty, like every previous vintage, this white wine impresses us with its purity and precision.

Grey Label '20

Selection of perfect bunches of Grillo picked two weeks later than White Label and fermented with thirty percent of the stems after being pressed. After eight days of fermentation only the free-run juice was moved to a big tonneau for one year.

A shining gold in the glass, with notes of candied apricots, sun-burnt wheat and sweet spices. A wonderful expression of this corner of the Mediterranean.
