Just in time for the cold season, the sumptuous 2019 Tai Rosso from Daniele Portinari has landed.
Located on the Southern hills of the Colli Berici, Daniele and his son Giovanni produce pure and graceful wines strictly linked to their land. In 2019, the low temperatures at the end of the spring brought great freshness to the Tai Rosso grapes, balancing the remarkable concentration of the fruits.
The grapes are from thirty-year-old vines planted over limestone and red clay. The wine spends twenty days of maceration on the skins, followed by a year in stainless steel, then ten months in oak and bottle for another year.
The glass screams with deep notes of jam of berries, violets, dehydrated prunes, and a refreshing touch of eucalyptus. The gorgeous, full and elegant palate reveals an intriguing mix of warm spice and balsamic herbs, carrying by a restoring minerality and refined tannins.
