Ahead of Deirdre's visit to London this weekend, we are pleased to introduce the latest releases from Cascina Val Liberata.
Perched on the gentle hills of Basso Monferrato, just a stone's throw from the River Po, Val Liberata radiates with remote and pristine charm. Deirdre O'Brien and Maurizio Caffer moved here in 2014, restoring the old Cascina and planting three and a half hectares of Nebbiolo, Grignolino and the local Slarina. The vines sit on the calcareous clay typical of this area, farmed biodynamically in a biodiverse eden with the surrounding meadows, forests, walnut groves, and vegetable cultivation.
With this recent release, spanning the 2021 and 2023 vintages, the couples clearly reached a heightened level of knowledge and experience. While their classic cuvées showcase refinement and precision, the new additions, Chiaro and Groove, stand out for their vibrancy and freshness.
