Introducing Faedesfa

October 2023

We are thrilled to introduce the work of Alberto Buratti, one of Veneto's most talented winemakers and the mind behind Faedesfa.

Alberto grew up surrounded by his grandfather's vineyards and soon was introduced to low-intervention wine by his uncle, Marco, from the Azienda Agricola Farnea. After studying history of art in Padova and pursuing a Master's in art markets in Milano, he decided to return to his roots and take over his grandfather's farm in 2019.

Located in the town of Rovolon, on a serene segment of the Colli Euganei around Monte della Madonna, the north-facing vineyards cover 3.2 hectares and host vines up to eighty years old. Despite the volcanic origin of these hills, the soil here is composed of sedimentary rocks, mainly white and red marl. A fortunate terroir that contributes to the quality of the fruits, allowing Alberto to farm organically and adding nothing in the cantina.

Corbinello, Moscato Giallo, and Serprina (an ancient clone of Glera) are the local varieties farmed, alongside the widely known Cabernet, Pinot Nero, Chardonnay, and Glera. Intrigued by the world of cider and perry, Alberto recently planted an orchard featuring apples, quinces, and pears to experiment with grape and fruit blends.

We have been closely following the journey of this young winemaker since his debut vintage in 2020, intrigued by the initial potential and impressed by the progress made each year. The wines always burst with vitality, purity, and charm, a direct consequence of a blessed land and a sensitive, innovative winemaking approach.
