We are thrilled to introduce Ut Bibat Populus 2021, a singular wine from the maestro Davide Xodo.
This pristine Cabernet Franc comes from an almost abandoned twelve-row micro vineyard, tended by Davide in 2021 for a small production of three hundred bottles.
The vines, planted around two hundred meters above sea level on the clay-limestone hills between the dormant hamlets of Sant'Urbano and Vigo, ten kilometres north of the Colli Berici in Veneto, were owned by an old friend of Davide. Knowing the stunning location of the vineyard and being impressed by the quality of the wine tasted in the cellar back in 2022, we didn't hesitate to take the entire batch.
From a warm vintage characterized by concentration and punchy fruit quality, the grapes picked at the beginning of October spent three weeks on the skins before being pressed to stainless steel for twenty months. The result is a ripe, deep and lively Cabernet Franc, suitable for generous banquets with family and friends.
